Ventura 2008
Our first clinic of the year was a great success we had participants come from as far away as LA and volunteers from as far as San Diego. Local Prothetis David ludig and his intern Tim also came out on Saturday to offer their assistance and hit the waves. In all we had about 18+ people come out. The highlight of the weekend was Sunday when Sue a left Below Knee Amputee from LA caught her first wave. Sue was very nervous to even walk on the sand and had not been out in the ocean in over eight years. She loved what she experienced and was planning on heading back to her CPO to get him to get her another leg to use in the water. Thank you so much Viv and Kirk for your efforts in the water and on the beach in helping Sue have a great experience. Viv our volunteer from the Shriners Hospital got some help in the waves by Rodney and Dana as well, and even the kids got in on the action with Rodney working with Ben and Megan, and I with Mariah.
Our hope is that everyone that came had a great time and will help us spread the word about the benefits of Adaptive Surfing. Thank you all for your support and we are looking forward to seeing a lot of smiling face on the beach at Huntington next month.
